The
XA 200 mono block power amplifier is the first in an entirely new series
of power amplifiers that significantly raises the standard of excellence
in audio amplification. The ¡§XA¡¨ series features a refined and
elegantly simple, very highly biased, pure Class A mode of operation.
This new topology, descriptively characterized as being single-ended Class A, combines the very best of the original Pass Labs ¡§Aleph¡¨ series with the present ¡§X¡¨ series characteristics. The XA 200 will deliver 200 watts into 8 ohms of impedance, and driving this amplifier harder will not produce any additional power. Speaker matching is therefore a consideration with the XA series amplifiers, as it was with the original Aleph series. However, for the listener with efficient speakers who truly appreciate the most musical presentation possible, few if any amplifiers can approach the level of detail, intimacy, frequency response and dynamic range that the XA 200 will provide. Lush, detailed midrange, combined with a sweet and silky smooth top end, and the authority and bass control offered by Supersymmetry, works together in an intimate and transparent fashion.
